London-based digital media education centre Ravensbourne will host an industry conference about 3D Storytelling on March 22-23.

The 3D Storytelling Industry Conference 2012 will bring together more than 800 UK professionals from the film, broadcast, advertising and gaming sectors to discuss how to use 3D effectively.

Confirmed speakers include Chris Parks of Vision 3, Adam Sculthorpe of Dimension Media, Matthew Bristowe of Prime Focus, Richard Mills from Onsight, director Julian Napier, John Cassy from Sky 3D, Victor Riva who worked on Hugo, Richard Fish of Deluxe 142, and Story Editor Kate Leys

Innovations since last year’s conference include a new 3D Gaming focus, a 3D research area, and a lab room.

The conference will also present results from new research with FilmClub about children’s attitudes towards 3D.

“Technology is allowing 3D to be explored in a creative and intelligent way and draw audiences into the heart of the stories we are producing. 3D Storytelling 2012 is the only UK conference that focuses on how to achieve this, whether this is for a short film, game or high-budget feature film,” said Carrie Wootten, Co-Director, 3D Storytelling 2012.

“The UK is leading the way with Stereoscopic 3D production and we are thrilled that Ravensbourne will be repeating the event in 2012,” added Adam Sculthorp, Creative Director and Stereographer from DIMENSIONmedia.

Screen International is a media partner for the event.
