Wendy Mitchell appointed as Editor of Screen International
Mitchell, who started at Screen in 2005, will succeed Mike Goodridge.
Wendy Mitchell has been appointed as the new Editor of Screen International and ScreenDaily.com.
Mitchell first joined Screen in 2005 as UK Reporter, rising to News Editor, Senior Editor, Head of News and most recently Head of Content.
Mitchell has been a journalist for 16 years, and her previous roles include Staff Editor at Entertainment Weekly, Managing Editor at indieWIRE, Assistant Editor at Rolling Stone Press, and News Editor at CMJ New Music Report — all based in New York City.
She will succeed Screen’s current Editor Mike Goodridge, who joins Protagonist Pictures as CEO in August.
“I’m thrilled to take on the honour and challenge of editing Screen, especially given the strength of our current editorial team,” Mitchell said. “I look forward to working closely with the international film community to ensure that Screen’s offerings continue to reflect the constantly evolving film industry.”
Conor Dignam, Managing Director of Screen International, said: “Wendy will be an outstanding editor for Screen. She has incredible depth of knowledge about the international film industry and some fantastic ideas about how to make the brand even stronger. I’m delighted to have someone of Wendy’s calibre to lead our editorial operation.”

It simply had to be. I've been telling everyone this would happen since Mike's announcement two weeks back. Right person for the job, Screen is in great hands. Congratulations Wendy.
