Warner Bros creative executive and senior vice president of production Dan Lin has founded Lin Pictures and will segue from his position at the studio into an exclusive long-term production deal effective January 1 2008.

Lin Pictures will produce all genres of film with the primary focus being on director-driven event pictures. The company has already identified a roster of upcoming projects on which Lin will serve as producer or executive producer.

Details of the initial slate and additional staffing announcements will be announced separately.

'I've truly enjoyed working with Dan as a colleague over the years and now look forward to working with him as a producer,' Jeff Robinov, who will move from his role as production president to the newly created position of president of Warner Bros Pictures Group on January 1 2008, said.

'While we're sorry he's leaving our executive ranks, we're incredibly happy that he'll stay on the lot and still be a member of the Warner family.'

'The new world of delivery systems and technology as well as the radical changes taking place in storytelling style have created a multitude of entrepreneurial opportunities in the entertainment business,' Lin added.

Lin joined the studio as a creative executive in 1999 and was promoted to senior vice president of production in 2006. During his tenure he worked on The Departed, The Aviator, The Invasion and Roland Emmerich's upcoming 10,000 BC.
