Working Title Films, in association with Tiger Aspect, will startprincipal photography for Bean II onMay 15.

Rowan Atkinson will star in the sequel, which is directed by Steve Bendelack from a screenplay by Robin Driscoll and Hamish McColl based on a story by Simon McBurney.TV veteran Bendelack made his feature film debutdirecting The League of Gentlemen'sApocalypse.

Tiger Aspect's Peter Bennett-Jones and Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner areproducing.

Bean II follows bumbling Mr Bean on his misadventures to the South of France, wherehis own video diary is screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Bean started as a TV character in 1990 and the 1997 film Bean - The UltimateDisaster Movie grossed more than $240m worldwide.

Universal Pictures will release the film worldwide.
