Warner Bros-based Alcon Entertainment has acquired rights to Jerry Carr and Allan Gross' graphic novel Cryptozoo Crew and the script adaptation from Joe Gazzam.

Cryptozoo centres on a member of a secret organisation charged with protecting the identity of rare animals classified as cryptids who teams up with a beautiful doctor to protect a unique species from falling into the wrong hands.

Alcon development executive Jesse Israel brought the project to the company and will oversee it with senior vice president of development Steven Wegner. Alcon's co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will produce with Lloyd Phillips and Circle of Confusion's production arm.

Gazzam is represented by ICM and Circle of Confusion, which also represents Carr and Gross.
