EXCLUSIVE: Arclight Films’ Easternlight banner has closed a string of sales on new pick-up White Vengeance, which Daniel Lee is currently shooting in China.
The $20m period action adventure has a star-studded cast including Leon Lai, Zhang Hanyu, William Feng, Anthony Wong, Jordan Chan, Andy On and actress Liu Yifei who starred in The Forbidden Kingdom.
Easternlight has already pre-sold the film to Cineline for Korea, Ram Entertainment for Malaysia, Passion for Singapore and Aqua Pinema for Turkey.
Scheduled to wrap in early July, White Vengeance is based on the story of the Banquet at Hongmen, a key event in Chinese history, during which a Qin dynasty general plotted to assassinate his rival.
The film is produced by Wang Zhe, Song Guang Cheng and Susanna Tsang. Key crew includes action director Leung Siu Hung, production designer Henry Fong, DoP Tony Cheung and costume designer Eddie Mok.
Easternlight also handled international sales on Lee’s last film, 14 Blades, starring Donnie Yen and Vicki Zhao Wei.
