Kevin Spacey's Trigger Productions has secured $500,000 for post-production on his Bobby Darin biopic Beyond The Sea as the first move into film from a new UK investment company.

The investment comes through Orientrose, a recently-listed cash shell company formed by UK business advisory company Griffin Group. Orientrose also said it is reviewing how to develop its interests in US film production.

The investment will be repaid with a premium of £50,000 from the North American distributor's gross receipts from the film. Orientrose will also receive 12% of Trigger's share of the film's profits, which stars Spacey, Kate Bosworth, John Goodman and Bob Hoskins.

Beyond The Sea is set to open in the US and the UK this autumn.
