The 12th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (November 13-December 7) has announced its international competition programmes and the projects included in the Baltic Event Co-Production Market.

In the festival's EurAsia competition, 18 films will compete for the Grand Prix and $12,600 (Euros 10,000).

The EurAsia jury consists of actor Rain Tolk, director Brian Yuzna, actress Fernanda Silva, director Jos Stelling and director Nana Dzhordzhadze.

Among the films in international competition are several included in the Screen International Critics' Choice selection: 12 of this year's best films, selected by Screen critics for their uniqueness of vision.

These films include recipients of some of this year's most prestigious awards, including Palm d'Or winner The Class and Golden Lion winner The Wrestler, among others.

The Black Nights' programme also includes the Tridens Baltic Feature Film Competition, which features 14 recent films from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

During the festival, Tallinn will host the Baltic Event co-production market (December 1-2), where representatives of 12 features in development will pitch their projects to potential financiers. Screen will present a Best Pitch award at the event, the recipient chosen by the attending financiers.

On December 2 an additional 13 projects in post-production will be presented as part of the Coming Soon selection and another five projects as part of a special Focus on Ukraine.

During the Baltic Event, Screen will also present two panel discussions for local and visiting industry professionals: one on European co-productions and the Baltics (December 2) and another on recent artistic developments in Baltic film (December 3). There will also be panel on video on demand on December 3.
