Michael Jackson’s This Is It was the undisputed champion of the global box office this weekend (October 31 to November 1), grossing more than a $100m over a staggering 12,391 screens.

Fittingly for the Halloween weekend, US phenomenon Paranormal Activity continued to possess the number two spot on $16.4m for 2,404 screens.

Pixar’s Up is still cruising although has dropped one place to number three, with a total gross to date of $396m from 27 territories. Disney’s furry combatants G-Forcehas conceded the top ten in the US, where it is now at number 29, but it is forging forward on the international front, taking a total of $6.5m over 28 territories, grossing $2.7m in France alone.

Wild Bunch’s Le Petit Nicolas is a new entry this week at number 10 with $5.3m from grossed in Belgium, France and Italy and it is already poised to become the number one film of the year in France.

Another new arrival, Law Abiding Citizen grabbed seventh place with $7.5m over 1876 screens in the US only, but Surrogates was the weekend’s most successful newcomer. It entered the chart at number eight after its release over 31 territories internationally. Its $6m gross is followed closely by Where The Wild Things Are, which has dropped to ninth place with a $5.9m haul, boosting it’s total gross to $62.6m.

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and Saw VI grosses have almost halved since last weekend, moving Saw down to sixth with $9.8m and Meatballs to number five with $10.7m.
