Scarlett Johansson has joined the cast of Jon Favreau’s Chef, which Aldamisa International has introduced to buyers here.

The story of a chef who loses his job and starts up a food truck will also star previously announced Robert Downey Jr, Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale and Favreau.

Production is set to kick off on Jul 8 in Los Angeles.

Karen Gilchrist and Aldamisa co-chairman Sergei Bespalov produce Chef and Aldamisa is financing the project with longstanding partner Kilburn Media and Mark Manuel.

CAA packaged and arranged financing and represents US rights.
