Feature projects by veteran French director Claude Chabrol, newcomer director Marco Kreuzpaintner and Mostly Martha's Sandra Nettelbeck are among those receiving a total Euros 1.35m backing from Bavaria's regional public fund FFF Bayern.

Over Euros 600,000 were awarded to Kreuzpaintner's coming of age tale Sommersturm, which will be produced by the successful Munich production house Claussen + Woebke Filmproduktion, while Euros 400,000 went to MTM Medien & Television Muenchen's production of Nettelbeck's family entertainment film Sergeant Pepper, and Euros 300,000 to Integral Film's Chabrol project, the thriller La Demoiselle D'Honneur which will be partly shot in Munich.

In addition, over Euros 500,000 were allocated to backing graduation films by students of Munich's Academy for Television & Film (HFF) as well as other shorts and documentaries by budding filmmakers from the region.

Moreover, over Euros 1.6m was channelled into a number of television projects, including teamworx's "TV event" production Stauffenberg, to be directed by Jo Baier about the 20 July 1944 plot to assassinate Hitler, and Tandem Communications' TV two-parter based on the saga of the Nibelungen with Uli Edel as director.
