Writer-director, Stars Of Tomorrow, 2009.
Since 2004, Elliott has amassed a following - and a clutch of awards ‹ with his delicately constructed shorts. His latest, Jade, is gaining even more attention. An atmospheric tale of a teenage girl torn between lovers, it features Stars of Tomorrow Aisling Loftus and Michael Socha, and won the Silver Bear at this year¹s Berlin Film Festival. While his previous shorts shared an austere approach to narrative, Jade is more accessible, yet retains his signature style. “Jade was a conscious attempt to show I can handle narrative in a more traditional way,” says Elliott. With his regular producing partners Samm Haillay and Duane Hopkins of Third Films, he is working on a further short, Cow, and a feature set within a rural military community.
