Captain Phillips will be digitally remastered into IMAX and released in select theatres worldwide starting on October 11.
The Sony thriller from Paul Greengrass recently opened the New York Film Festival (27) and stars Tom Hanks as the skipper of a cargo ship hijacked by Somali pirates.
Minneapolis-based Somali expatriate Barkhad Abdi plays the lead pirate. Sony will release Captain Phillips on October 11.
