IFC Films has acquired North American rights to Tom Six’ horror film The Human Centipede (First Sequence).
The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2009 where it won prizes for best horror film and best actor for Dieter Laser, who stars as an obsessed doctor who surgically joins his victims together.
Ashley C Williams, Ashlynn Yennie, Akihiro Kitamura round out the key cast and Six produced with Ilona Six.
IFC Films’ Jeff Deutchman and Arianna Bocco negotiated the deal with Ilona Six. The Human Centipede will be released in 2010 via its IFC In Theaters VOD and theatrical day-and-date platform.
