Oscilloscope Laboratories and Showtime Networks have acquired SXSW documentary The Other F Word
Andrea Blaugrund Nevins directed the account of Jim Lindberg, the founder of skate punk band Pennywise whose rebellious existence has morphed into the mid-life comfort of fatherhood.
O-Scope plans an autumn theatrical release followed by DVD and digital distribution. Showtime will broadcast the film in 2012.
“When I first heard about this film about musician fathers, I thought, ‘Oh no, not another film that everyone thinks I’m going to like…’ O-Scope head and former Beastie Boy Adam Yauch said. “But I was actually very moved by it, pleasantly surprised, and glad I didn’t go with my first instinct. It’s a beautiful and touching film.”
