The ambitious fledgling distributor has struck its second deal with Liddell Entertainment following the earlier announcement on The Grey.

Open Water duo Chris Kentis and Laura Lau directed the story starring Sundance breakout Elizabeth Olsen as a young woman trapped inside her family’s crumbling home. Elle Driver holds international rights and Optimum will release in the UK.

Lau adapted the screenplay from the Uruguayan thriller La Casa Muda written by Oscar Estevez. 

Agnes Mentre of Tazora Films produced the Elle Driver presentation and Adeline Fontan Tessaur, Eva Diederix and George Paaswel as well as Lynette Howell of Silverwood Films served as executive producers.

Open Road Films CEO Tom Ortenberg, general counsel and evp of operations and business affairs Elliott Kleinberg and svp of acquisitions Ben Cotner brokered the deal with CAA, Robert Darwell of Sheppard Mullin and Chad Reineke on behalf of Liddell Entertainment.
