Soda takes UK rights ahead of world premiere at BFI London Film Festival.

UK distributor Soda Pictures has picked up rights to Frances Lea’s drama Strawberry Fields, the sixth Film London Microwave feature.

Lea was one of Screen International’s 2011 Stars of Tomorrow.

The story of sibling rivalry, sexual awakening and mind games, set over a hot English summer, is a Spring Pictures production, funded by Film London Microwave, in association with BBC Films, and Kent County Council Film Office with assistance of Screen South.

The cast of up and comers includes Anna Madeley (In Bruges), Christine Bottomley (The Arbor) and Emun Elliott (Game of Thrones).

Stawberry Fields will be released in April 2012 as part of Soda Pictures’ New British Cinema Quarterly (NBCQ) series.

Soda MD Edward Fletcher said: “Film London’s benchmark Microwave scheme continues to deliver engaging films for audiences. Brimming with new talent, Strawberry Fields will be a perfect addition to Soda’s third year NBCQ line up.”
