Mike Goodridge’s fast-expanding company has hired Teresa Moneo as creative director and producer

Need to know: The past five years have been a whirlwind for the fast-expanding company set up in 2020 by Mike Goodridge, former Screen International editor, Protagonist Pictures CEO and director of the International Film Festival & Awards Macao.
With a focus on international elevated arthouse films, the 2025 slate includes Edward Berger’s Ballad Of A Small Player starring Colin Farrell for Netflix, as well as Laszlo Nemes’s Orphan and Shih-Ching Tsou’s Left-Handed Girl, which have both been submitted to the Oscars’ best international feature category by Hungary and Taiwan, respectively. Jalmari Helander’s action title Sisu 2: Road To Revenge is heading out around the world through Sony Pictures Releasing in November.
A busy 2025 was capped by the arrival of Ballad collaborator and former Netflix and Focus Features executive Teresa Moneo as creative director and producer. Good Chaos is also a founder member of European collective The Creatives, the only UK company in the group, and has a one-year, renewable first-look deal with Searchlight Pictures.
Key personnel: Mike Goodridge, founder; Teresa Moneo, creative director and producer; James Bowsher, producer; Catriona Renton, head of development; Yoav Rosenberg, managing director.
Incoming: Anna Biller’s film The Face Of Horror shot in Prague this summer, while Wang Xiaoshuai’s thriller Child’s Play, starring Sandra Oh, is set to shoot in Canada in 2026. Hungarian director Kornel Mundruczo’s The Revolution According To Kamo, about the early life of Joseph Stalin, aims to film in Georgia, also next year. Based on an adaptation by Kata Wéber of an original screenplay by Pawel Pawlikowski and Ben Hopkins, The Revolution According To Kamo is a co-production with Ilya Stewart’s Hype Studios and a slew of European partners, including Pawlikowski and Tanya Seghatchian’s Apocalypso Pictures.
Also set to shoot in 2026 is Nemes’s English-language debut Outer Dark, with Jacob Elordi and Lily-Rose Depp attached. It is an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s 1968 novel about an incestuous brother and sister in Appalachia during the Great Depression.
Good Chaos is also a co-producer on Ruben Östlund’s The Entertainment System Is Down, now in post.
Mike Goodridge says: “We have looked more to Europe rather than America in our content production and in our filmmakers. We’re interested in working with European filmmakers, and we’ve worked with a few Asian filmmakers. I try to put things together which are makeable and that people want to see, rather than try with something impossible from the start.”
