The actress Kristin Scott Thomas will open the 63rd edition of the festival on May 12 by inviting the president Tim Burton and his jury on stage at the Palais Des Festivals.
She will preside over the closing ceremony when the awards will be announced on May 23.
Scott Thomas previously served in the role in 1999 and succeeds Edouard Baer, who held the position in 2008 and 2009.
English title for Un Beau Soleil Intérieur, set to open Directors’ Fortnight, also announced.
