NYFF will present Untold History’s first three chapters of the project.
The New York Film Festival (Sept 28 - Oct 14) is to host a preview of Oliver Stone’s latest documentary project, The Untold History of the United States.
Produced as a 10-part miniseries for Showtime (where it will premiere in 2012), NYFF will present Untold History’s first three chapters, which focus on the events leading up to America’s entrance into World War II and the war itself.
The Film Society of Lincoln Center today also announced Masterworks anniversary screenings of Lawrence of Arabia, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Princess Bride.
The festival is also debuting two new sidebar sections: Cinema Reflected will feature documentary and non-fiction films, while On the Arts will present films about the arts.
The 50th anniversary edition of the festival opens with Ang Lee’s Life of Pi and closes with Robert Zemeckis’ Flight.
