AMERICAN HUSTLE secured 10 nominations, which included nods for actors Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence as well as director David O. Russell.
CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, directed by Paul Greengrass, picked up six nominations including Best Supporting Actor for Barkhad Abdi - but Tom Hanks missed out in the Best Actor category.
DALLAS BUYERS CLUB got six nominations including Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Best Supporting Actor for Jared Leto.
GRAVITY tied with American Hustle to secure the most nominations (10) with nods for Sandra Bullock, cinematography and directing for Alfonso Cuarón.
HER got five nominations including Original Screenplay for writer/director Spike Jonze - but Joaquin Phoenix missed out in the Best Actor category.
NEBRASKA picked up six nominations, including Bruce Dern (Best Actor) and June Squibb (Best Supporting Actress) as well as Directing for Alexander Payne
PHILOMENA secured four nominations including Judi Dench for Best Actress, and Steve Coogan and Jeff Pope for Adapted Screenplay
12 YEARS A SLAVE was the third-most nominated film with nine nominations including for director Steve McQueen and in three of the acting categories: Chiwetel Ejiofor (Best Actor), Michael Fassbender (Best Supporting Actor), Lupita Nyong’o (Best Supporting Actress)
THE WOLF OF WALL STREET secured five nominations that included Leonardo DiCaprio (Best Actor), Jonah Hill (Best Supporting Actor) and Martin Scorsese (Directing).
