Popular Spanish director and four-time Academy Award nominee Jose Luis Garci has announced his next feature, The Story Of A Kiss (Historia De Un Beso), set to shoot in northern Spain in October or November.

The romantic drama will star Ana Fernandez (Alone), Alfredo Landa, Carlos Hipolito and youngster Manuel Lozano, star of last year's hit Butterfly.

Garci co-wrote the script with his long-time collaborator Horacio Valcarcel. The director produces his own films through his Madrid-based Nickel Odeon. Budget has not yet been set.

Garci has been nominated six times to represent Spain in the foreign language category of the Academy Awards, and four times he made it into the final five at the Oscars. He picked up a statue for his 1982 film Begin The Beguine (Volver A Empezar).
