Mark Christopher whose lastfilm was the 1998 nightclub drama 54 is the latest director to sign on to make a low-budget film forInDigEnt, the digital video collective created by New York-based IFCProductions' Jonathan Sehring and Caroline Kaplan, producer-director GaryWinick and Cinetic Media's John Sloss.
Christopher will make theoffbeat comedy Pizza, the 11thfilm from InDigEnt, which since its inception in 1999 has developed animpressive roster of independent films including Winick's Tadpole, Rebecca Miller's Personal Velocity and the upcoming comedy Pieces Of April from Peter Hedges.
Based on a screenplay by Christopher, Pizza starsEthan Embry (Sweet Home Alabamaand the upcoming fantasy-adventure Timeline) as a deliveryman who invites a lonely high schoolgirl to join him on his rounds one night.
The female lead is yet to becast and principal photography is scheduled to begin in Pennsylvania in August.
Tim Perell and HowardGertler of Process will produce along with Winick and Jake Abraham of InDigEnt.
Sehring and Kaplan willexecutive produce with Sloss. Holly Becker serves as production executive forIFC.
