A noisy six-day launch saw Paramount’s summer tentpole dominate the North American landscape with an Independence Day weekend record of $97.5m from Friday to Sunday, according to estimates, rising to $116.4m for the four-day weekend and $181.1m counting back to the Jun 29 launch.
