Lorber Films, the theatrical releasing arm of Kino Lorber Inc., has taken all US rights to Rapt, the French thriller starring Yvan Attal.

The film is set to open in New York City on July 13, 2011, at Film Forum, and expand nationwide in the weeks to
follow.

Directed by Belgian actor-director Lucas Belvaux, the film was inspired by the 1978 kidnapping of French industrialist
Édouard-Jean Empain and stars Attal as Stanislas Graff, a playboy, millionaire businessman who is
abducted and held for ransom for 60 grueling days.

As Graff’s wife (Anne Consigny) and his attorney (Alex Descas) field the kidnappers’ demands, family members and police officials begin to play against each other.

After a failed rescued attempt, Graff is released by his kidnappers and forced to deal with his family’s resentment,
as much of his hidden dealings and love affairs have come to surface.

The deal was negotiated by Richard Lorber, Kino Lorber’s co-president and CEO, and Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, co-head of Films Distribution. Remake rights were sold separately to Smuggler Films.
