Eric Mabius and Michael Ironside have signed on to thehorror film Reeker, which was writtenand is being directed by David Payne for Payne and Tina Illman's TheInstitution and Amanda Klein and Michael Nash's Primal Pictures.

Mabius featured in Resident Evil and the upcoming Resident Evil: Apocalypse, while Ironside had a role in StarshipTroopers.

The story centres on a group of youngsters, trapped at aneerie desert travellers' lodge, who discover a supernatural killer is preyingthem upon them.

Reekeralso stars Arielle Kebbel (Soul Plane, Be Cool), Derek Richardson (Dumb & Dumberer), Devon Gummersall (My So-Called Life), Scott Whyte (All God's Creatures) and Illman.

The film is being independently financed and is producedby The Institution and Primal Pictures, with Ronnie Apteker serving asexecutive producer.

Both companies are building up genre slates and Payne, whosedirecting credits include Addams Family Reunion, has already begun to prepare his nextproject, the thriller Mayhem.

In the last yearKlein and Nash, former Focus Features and Paramount Classics acquisition andproduction executives, have set up Three Wives with Tollin/Robbins at Paramount, Kopps with Happy Madison at Columbia, TheChangeling at Focus and Suspiria at Dimension.
