UK-based training body Skillset and production company Magic Light Pictures have launched the Producer Placement Programme for eight up-and-coming film producers to work in the UK industry.
Placements are augmented with masterclasses, workshops and presentations from industry experts.
Martin Pope of Magic Light said: 'We're delighted to be bringing together talented emerging producers, then working with key film companies to give these young producers a real sense of the market forces which shape the industry. It's a great opportunity for the producers; and we're delighted to be working with Skillset in creating this programme.'
There is no charge for the programme and the trainee producers receive a salary for their seven-month placements.
The pilot course was run in 2006 by Samuelson Productions.
