MGM has acquired rights to Jason Carter Eaton's children's book The Facttracker and attached Monsters, Inc co-director David Silverman to direct.

Eaton and writing partner Ian Lendler will adapt the live-action film based on the story of a town that gathers all the facts in the world and comes under threat from a visiting salesman who peddles lies.

Night At The Museum director Shawn Levy will produce through his 21 Laps Entertainment Company alongside Legally Blonde franchise producer Marc Platt and his Marc Platt Productions. 21 Laps Entertainment president Tom McNulty and Marc Platt Productions president Adam Siegel will also produce.

Vice president of production Becky Sloviter brought the project into the studio and will oversee development with executive vice president of production Cale Boyter.

21 Laps Entertainment's Billy Rosenberg will oversee production for the company and Tia Maggini will oversee for Marc Platt Productions.
