A24 has picked up US rights to Gaspar Noe’s Cannes Directors’ Fortnight entry Climax following the film’s buzzy premiere at the festival yesterday (May 13), Screen has confirmed.
The film, which was shot in just two weeks, focuses on an urban dance troupe that embarks on a kind of Dionysian frenzy in an abandoned school.
Sofia Boutella stars. Producers were Edouard Weil, Vincent Maraval, and Brahim Chioua.
Screen’s review from Cannes called it an ”orgiastic horror trip”.
CAA Media Finance and sales representative Wild Bunch agreed the deal.
