AI Creative Summit 2024

The fourth AI Creative Summit has revealed the full line-up for its 2026 edition, which takes place at BFI Southbank in London on November 11.

The event, which is presented by Screen International and sister titles Broadcast and Broadcast Tech, is expanding in scale, scope and ambition this year, in response to unprecedented interest in AI from the creative and media industries.

For the first time, the AI Creative Summit is taking over the entire theatres of the BFI Southbank, transforming the venue into a dynamic, festival-style hub dedicated to the future of AI in creativity.

Meanwhile, a session on AI animation will see filmmakers Martin Gent of Buska Video and Jimmy Woolley of 404 Films outline how they are charting a course through an animation sector that is being rapidly disrupted by the technology.

Actress Alice Krige (Chariots of Fire, Star Trek: First Contact) and director Andy de Emmony, who is currently directing Harlan Coben’s The Woods for Netflix in 2027, will discuss how to protect human performance in the age of AI.

Elsewhere, the BFI’s creative technology industry manager David Johnson will join ITN’s chief technology officer Jon Roberts outlining which emerging technologies, from AI to automation and virtual production, are set to reshape the creative industries.

The Summit will also hear from top UK VFX studios on how they are adapting at a time when AI is rapidly changing the creative possibilities and costs of visual effects. Among the speakers are Framestore’s creative director for AI Theo Jones, Outpost VFX CEO Duncan McWilliam and nmatic.ai head of AI Carl Lyttle.

The AI and technology leaders from some of the UK’s biggest creative and media companies, including the BBC, advertising giant WPP and ITV Studios, will also share concrete examples of how machine learning and automation are being deployed at scale in their organisations in active production pipelines.

The AI Creative Summit 2026 builds on a successful, sold-out event held last year.

The AI Creative Summit 2026 will offer:

  • More practical insights and cutting-edge demos, more thought leadership and real-world case studies from global leading experts.
  • Three parallel content streams creating a curated, immersive experience that enables delegates to explore the full breadth of AI innovation in media, entertainment and the creative industries.
  • An expanded programme that reflects the rapid pace at which AI is reshaping the creative landscape.
