Bill Nighy has joined the cast of Babak Jalali’s A Town In Nova Scotia, which began filming in Liverpool earlier this January.
Nighy stars as a widower living in a block of council flats in Liverpool. Makram J Khoury, who appeared in Munich, plays his best friend.
Jalali co-wrote the film with Carolina Cavalli, who previously collaborated with him on the 2023 Sundance premiere Fremont.
The film is produced by Naïma Abed and Émilie Georges for Paradise City, and Jennifer Monks for The Fold.
It is financed by BBC Film, BFI, Liverpool Film Office, Calculus, Hoopsa Films and Desmar.
