EXCLUSIVE: Blue Fox International will launch sales in Cannes next week on the supernatural horror Ruby, Ruby produced in association with Head Gear Films and Arterial Films. The feature is currently in post-production in South Australia.

Supported by South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), Ruby, Ruby marks the fourth horror feature from Ursula Dabrowsky, also known as writer-director-producer Sue Brown, who is joined on the producer roster by Antony I. Ginnane.

Inspired by the urban legend of 18-year-old Ruby Bland, who died in 1909 in Kapunda, South Australia, Ruby, Ruby follows Ollie and Hannah, who awaken a deadly curse when they become trapped in a haunted cemetery with a malicious predator and must fight supernatural and human foes in their bid to escape.

Sarah Jeavons and Luca Sardelis star alongside Barrie Cotton, Asha O’Connell, Jordan Cowan, Henry Cooper, and Tommy Darwin.

Executive producers are William Fayman, Chloe Gardiner, Lisa Gutberlet, James Huntsman, Anthony J Lyons, Bryce Menzies, Steven de Villiers, Phil Hunt, Compton Ross and James Cannon. Blue Fox acquired worldwide rights and will distribute the film in the US later this year.

Dabrowsky said, “I wanted to distil the narrative into a simple, inescapable chain of events: two best friends, Ollie and Hannah; a forbidden act at her grave; and everything unraveling around them.”
