EXCLUSIVE: New features from Camila Beltrán and Jonas Bak are among the 10 projects selected for the fifth edition of the Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine Hessen.

Six of the films are in the development sector of the lab; with the other four in the First Cut Lab.

Colombian filmmaker Beltrán will present Avant que la mer ne ferme les chemins, a drama produced by Lionel Massol of Les Films du Grand Huit and David Hurst of Dublin Films, both from France.

The lab includes its first Nouvelle-Aquitaine/Hessen co-production – Bak’s experimental drama Somewhere Between Sleep, produced by Charlotte Lelong for France’s Trance Films and Jasper Wiedhoft for Germany’s Reynard Films.

Programmed by France’s Tatino Films, it is the second edition of the lab in partnership with Germany’s Hessen region, with project mentors including Costa Brava, Lebanon producer Myriam Sassine and Bac Films producer and head of acquisitions Alexis Hofmann.

The selected projects in development will participate in two residential workshops and an industry event, across a seven-month period. The first workshop will be held in Monbalen, France from June 11-15, with the second in Schloss Biebrich, Germany from September 22-26; before an industry day in Poitiers, in collaboration with Poitiers Film Festival on December 5, when the participants will have the opportunity to pitch to distributors.

Sassine leads the Full Circle Lab team under the supervision of Tatino Films CEO Matthieu Darras.

Past Lab projects include Aurelien Vernhes-Lemusiaux’s La Couleuvre, which premieres in the Cannes ACID sidebar this year.
