EXCLUSIVE: Second feature from Kazakh film-maker Emir Baigazin to be co-produced by French production company.
French production company Capricci Production is to co-produce The Wounded Angel, the second feature by Kazakh film-maker Emir Baigazin after his debut Harmony Lessons won a Silver Bear for an Outstanding Artistic Contribution (for the film’s DoP Aziz Zhambakiyev) last year.
Baigazin’s new project comprises four episodes about “fallen angels” and is his second part of a trilogy about teenagers and their complex relations with the world.
The Wounded Angels was developed by Baigazin in Berlin last autumn when he was selected as one of the film-makers to participate in the Berlinale Residency.
This week, he was pitching the project to further potential co-producers at the Berlinale Co-Production Market.
