EXCUSIVE: Concourse Media has closed a raft of pre-sales on the romantic comedy Vision Board starring Lucy Hale that is scheduled to begin production later this year.
Rights have gone to Wild Bunch for Germany and Switzerland, Rialto for Australia and New Zealand, CDC for Latin America, and ProRom for Eastern Europe.
Further deals have closed with Three Lines for Benelux, Paradise for CIS and Baltics, Falcon for the Middle East, and Captive for Airlines. Concourse CEO Matt Shreder and his team will continue negotiations in outstanding territories.
Peter Huchings will direct from a screenplay by Morgan Matson and makes his third collaboration with Hale after they worked together on The Hating Game and Which Brings Me to You. Production is scheduled to begin later this year.
Vision Board is positioned as an elevated, commercial romance about a struggling fashion designer stuck in a dead-end life who, after drunkenly creating a vision board, wakes up living in a dream reality comprising a Malibu mansion, thriving fashion empire, and a seemingly perfect romance with a charming partner.
However as she adopts the aspirational new life she realizes achieving her life’s goals may come at the cost of losing her authentic self.
Claude Dal Farra and Brian Keady are producing for BCDF Pictures. Shreder and Concourse Media serve as executive producers and financiers alongside sister entity Archetype Media Finance.
“Securing commitments from distribution partners of this calibre is a major step forward for the film,” said Shreder. “Their confidence speaks to the strength of the project, and we’re thrilled to be working alongside them as it moves toward production.”
Concourse’s Cannes sales slate includes SXSW psychological thriller Sender starring Brit Lower from Severance, Rhea Seehorn from Pluribus, and Jamie Lee Curtis; and family film Maybe We Should led by Heather Graham, Jeremy John Wells, Rel Howery, Kevin Nealon, and Matt Walsh.
