EXCLUSIVE: Concourse Media has announced a raft of international pre-sales in Toronto on Parish, the post-apocalyptic action thriller starring Nicolas Cage, Dane DeHaan, and Alexandra Shipp.
Ahead of a production start in Minnesota next week (week of September 21), deals have closed with Wild Bunch for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Energia for Latin America, and Eagle Pictures for Italy.
In other deals, Concourse has licensed rights in Middle East (Falcon Films), Greece (Tanweer), South Korea (Noori Pictures), Turkey (Siyah Beyaz), India (Dimension Pictures), and CIS (Paradise). CEO Matthew Shreder and president of sales Jack Sheehan negotiated the sales.
Concourse is negotiating a deal for North American rights and continues talks in Toronto on outstanding territories. “The response in Toronto has been tremendous,” Shreder said. “We’ve secured fantastic partners around the world, and we’re heading into production with real momentum.”
Adam Sigal (2023 Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver whodunnit Nandor Fodor And The Talking Mongoose), wrote and directs Parish, which takes place 30 years after an apocalyptic event has devastated civilisation and a survivor (Cage) inhabits a compound with his highly-trained dogs. When a desperate woman carrying an infant arrives seeking refuge as monstrous predators close in, the man must choose between adhering to the brutal rules that have kept him alive or clinging on to the last vestiges of his humanity.
Joel Shapiro is producer, and the executive producers include Shreder, Kristin Harris and Sheehan of Concourse. Archetype Media Finance, the new film fund co-managed by Shreder, Tyler Condon and Tim Hebard, is financing the $20m project with a group of private investors. David Tattersall, whose credits include Die Another Day and Star Wars: Episodes I–III, is the cinematographer.
Concourse is also in Toronto engaging with buyers on Sean Mullin’s romantic Comedy Best Divorce Ever starring Amy Schumer.
