New cast joins Noomi Rapace on thriller.

Pacific Rim star Idris Elba and Avatar’s Sam Worthington are to join Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) in the cast of thriller Alive Alone.

Thunder Road Pictures’ New York-set thriller being sold at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin by Protagonist Pictures.

The film, which is set to shoot in New York City in March, is the directorial debut of Khurram Longi. Longi’s screenplay featured on both the Black List in the US and the Brit List in the UK.

Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk is producing with Rapace acting as executive producer. Michael Benaroya’s Benaroya Pictures is financing.

Elba will star as Jamal, an ex-detainee of Guantanamo Bay working as a taxi driver, and Rapace will play Sarah, a prostitute on the run from a feared crime boss. When their worlds collide, they unexpectedly find salvation in each other.

Worthington, the star of Avatar, Clash Of The Titans and Terminator Salvation, will play the crime boss Murphy.

Elba is represented by WME and Longi, Rapace and Worthington by CAA.
