Film Movement has acquired ensemble drama Helena From The Wedding for the US and Canada. The film will get a limited New York theatrical run in November and a cable VOD premiere in December.

Directed by Joseph Infantolino, Helena stars Gillian Jacobs (Choke), Melanie Linskey (Up In the Air) and Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie) in a story about a New Year’s Eve party thrown by two newlyweds. The film screened in competition at this year’s SXSW festival.

The acquisition was negotiated by Film Movement president Adley Gartenstein and acquisitions and distribution vice president Rebeca Conget with Infantolino and Traction Media sales agent Maren Olson.
