‘How To Train Your Dragon’

Filming is underway in the UK on Universal Pictures’ live-action sequel to How To Train Your Dragon.

It is shooting at Sky Studios Elstree, marking a change from the first film which shot at Titanic Studios in Belfast.

Dean DeBlois returns as director, having previously helmed the original animated trilogy.

Mason Thames, Nico Parker and Gerard Butler also return to the cast while Cate Blanchett is reprising her role from the animated feature.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 is set five years after the original which saw teenage boy Hiccup befriend a dragon in a world where Vikings and dragons have long been enemies. In the sequel, Hiccup is reunited with his long-lost mother Valka (Blanchett) and forced to battle a madman.

The film is produced by Universal-based Marc Platt Productions and is currently scheduled for a June 11, 2027 release date.
