EXCLUSIVE: Veteran independent executive Scott Bedno has joined the financier TPC as managing director, sales and acquisitions, and will head the new film and television library sales division.

Bedno’s arrival comes as TPC closed its first library deal, taking 114 titles from Myriad Pictures that include: J.C. Chandor’s financial world thriller Margin Call; romance The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby starring Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy; and Bob Trevino Likes It with John Leguizamo.

Bedno worked at Myriad for seven years as SVP distribution and acquisitions. In his TPC role he will oversee new library sales, analysis, and acquisitions, and work closely with the asset purchase team. TPC plans to monetise library assets through broadcasters, streamers, and transactional platforms.

“Scott’s two decades of experience in domestic and international sales, acquisitions, production, and delivery provide invaluable knowledge to our clients,” said TPC CEO David Gendron. “This expansion strengthens our cross-functionality with our other verticals, including our growing license agreement purchase programme.”

“David and his team have built an impressive portfolio on the service offering, and we both see growth potential in film library and rights management,” said Bedno. “The license agreement purchase programme is a smart and timely strategy that complements traditional library acquisitions.”

TPC, a full-service finance and production services company with a team of more than 50 in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia, established its license purchase platform by acquiring Pipe Entertainment in late 2023. It provides rightsholders with an alternative to traditional bank financing by monetising their film and television assets through the sale or assignment of existing license agreements.

Prior to Myriad, Bedno was VP of sales at Voltage Pictures and worked on projects such as I Feel Pretty, Colossal, and Once Upon A Time In Venice. He previously held executive positions at Spotlight Pictures, Cinetel Films, and Australian distributor Becker Entertainment. He serves on the IFTA board and executive committee.
