
One Battle After Another earned the most nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes with nine nominations followed by Sentimental Value on eight and Sinners on seven.
One Battle After Another is up for best musical/comedy, director and screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson, original score, plus acting nods for Chase Infiniti, Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Teyana Taylor.
Sentimental Value posted a strong showing and will compete for best drama, director for Joachim Trier, best screenplay, with Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas up for acting awards (the latter two competing against each other for supporting actress).
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is also up for best picture – drama, with Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just An Accident and The Secret Agent rounding out the nominations, with Coogler also earning a director nod.
The director nominations are completed by Chloe Zhao, the only woman on the list, Guillermo del Toro and Jafar Panahi.
The best picture - musical or comedy category sees Richard Linklater compete against himself with both Blue Moon and Nouvelle Vague nominated, alongside Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice and One Battle After Another.
The 83rd Golden Globes ceremony will take place on Sunday, January 11 at 8pm ET, with Nikki Glaser returning as host.
Two lifetime achievement winners have been revealed already: Helen Mirren will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry, whilst Sarah Jessica Parker will receive the Carol Burnett Award for her impact on television.
