Peter Mullan, David Morrissey, Daniel Mays and Johnny Harris join the cast of the anticipated second feature from Shifty director Eran Creevy.

Shooting has started on Eran Creevy’s Welcome To The Punch, starring James McAvoy, Mark Strong and Andrea Riseborough.

The film, which also stars Peter Mullan, David Morrissey, Daniel Mays and Johnny Harris, is shooting at 3 Mills Studios and on location in and around London.

Welcome To The Punch centres around ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood, played by Strong and his nemesis, detective Max Lewinsky (McAvoy).

Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh will produce for their company Between The Eyes, which was also behind Creevy’s debut feature, the BAFTA nominated Shifty.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, president of Automatik, will produce alongside Pugh and Aitken. Ridley Scott and Liza Marshall will executive produce for Scott Free London along with Xavier Marchand for Momentum Pictures, Stuart Ford for IM Global and Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners at Worldview Entertainment.

The film is being financed by Worldview Entertainment, Quickfire Films, the BFI’s Film Fund and Automatik.

IM Global is handling international sales on the film, which was pre-sold to 36 territories at Cannes. Alliance Films will distribute the film in Canada, Momentum Pictures in the UK and Aurum Productions in Spain.

Creevy, who has also written the script, said it was “great to be shooting against the magnificent backdrop of Canary Wharf and modern London. We have a fantastically talented cast and crew, and I can’t wait to start filming”.
