STXfilms is understood to be closing multiple territories on the upcoming psychological thriller A Head Full Of Ghosts from director Scott Cooper and set to star Margaret Qualley from Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
The company acquired the US and UK, where it distributes directly, and reportedly pooled its resources with STXinternational output partners in Latin America (Sun), Canada (Elevation) and Benelux (The Searchers) to take those territories off the table.
The adaptation is based on the acclaimed 2015 novel by Paul Tremblay about a journalist who uncovers the truth behind a suburban family’s disintegration some years prior when their elder daughter showed signs of schizophrenia.
Cross Creek, Team Downey and The Allegiance Theater are behind the project, which CAA Media Finance brought to the EFM in Berlin with Mad River International.
