Tabitha Jackson has been appointed director of the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program.
Jackson will supervise a staff of eight and relocates to Los Angeles ahead of her December 6 start date. She reports directly to executive director Keri Putnam.
The new hire most recently served as commissioning editor, arts, Channel 4 Television, based in London.
Prior to this role she was editor of More 4 at Channel 4 where she ran the day-to-day operations for the UK’s sixth largest digital channel.
At the Institute Jackson’s mandate will include allocation of an annual $1.8m grant to independent documentaries around the world and hosting five annual Labs for film-makers.
