Particle 6, the UK-based company behind the AI-generated actor Tilly Norwood, is developing its first AI feature film.
Misaligned is set to star Norwood, marking the AI actor’s first appearance in a film.
The production will use a hybrid model, with directors, writers and editors working alongside AI specialists.
The filmmakers and other traditional crew members will receive AI training and mentorship throughout the process.
Misaligned is described as a comedy-drama and coming-of-age story set in a surreal digital world. Norwood will play an AI being who is encouraged by a “seductive bot” to start developing her own desires, impulses and ambitions.
Particle 6 was founded in 2015 by Eline van der Velden and offers AI production, co-production and service work in film and television, as well as commercial work.
The company’s announcement of Norwood sparked controversy last year, with SAG-AFTRA stating they do not consider Norwood an actor.
