Sarah-Jane Wright, longtime head of production at Working Title Films, has joined Warner Bros Pictures as the studio’s UK head of physical production.
Wright will report to Warner Bros Motion Pictures Group president of physical production, though the studio has yet to appoint an executive to succeed the retiring Michele Imperato Stabile in that position.
In her new role, Wright will lead Warner’s UK physical production team to oversee the planning and execution of all UK-based physical production activities for the studio’s theatrical slate, from pre-production through post-production. She will have overall responsibility for production safety and stunts, facilities, foreign government matters, production resources, post-production, VFX and physical production finance matters in the UK in partnership with Warner’s US post-production, VFX and finance leadership.
Warner Bros Pictures senior vice presidents of physical production Jay Rosenwink and Samar Pollitt will report to Wright and continue to have responsibility for their respective production slates.
As a production executive and executive producer, Wright, who joined Working Title in 1999, has worked on films including Billy Elliot, Atonement, Love Actually, Shaun of the Dead, Les Misérables and The Substance.
She has also served as a mentor to young creatives through her involvement in the London Screen Academy and ScreenSkills. In May she was appointed council chair for ScreenSkills’ Film Skills Fund.
