Thunderbolts* and Disclosure Day actor Wyatt Russell has joined the cast of John Carroll Lynch’s upcoming comedy Happy, sold by Embankment Films.
He will star alongside previously announced Asa Butterfield, Mark Strong, Kyra Sedgwick, Brittany O’Grady and Patti Harrison.
Filming is set to begin in March 2027 in the US.
The film follows a man’s spectacularly dysfunctional introduction to his girlfriend’s family, from a shotgun fired at a birthday cake to a voyeuristic mother.
Ira Steven Behr writes the script, which marks US actor Carroll Lynch’s second feature as director, following 2017’s Lucky.
Happy is produced by Claude Dal Farra and Brian Keady of US outfit BCDF Pictures, alongside Richard Kahan and Behr.
