NickNolte has been cast in the key role of Socrates in Peaceful Warrior, a movie based on Dan Millman's bestsellingself-help novel Way Of The Peaceful Warrior which went into production this week.

Hejoins Scott Mechlowicz, Amy Smart and Agnes Bruckner in the cast. Victor Salva(Jeepers Creepers and JeepersCreepers 2) is directing the filmwhich is being produced by Mark Amin's Sobini Films with DEJ Productions andBill Johnson and Jim Seibel's Inferno Distribution. Inferno is handlinginternational sales on the picture.

PeacefulWarrior tells the story of a youngstudent and gymnast (played by Mechlowicz) who stumbles across a mentornicknamed Socrates at an all-night gas station. He teaches the boy a newideology about life called The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior which blends easternphilosophy and western fitness.

Thefilm sees Mechlowicz, who made a strong impression in Mean Creek and Eurotrip, take a first leading role. Nolte has recently been seen in OlivierAssayas' Clean and Terry George'sHotel Rwanda and has completed Neverwas directed by Joshua Michael Stern.

The film joins a numberbeing sold by Inferno also including Just Friends directed by Roger Kumble and distributed in the USby New Line Cinema and Southland Tales, the new film from Richard Kelly which will star Sarah Michelle Gellarand Seann William Scott.
