Misha Manson-Smith has signed on to direct Sex Education, the Brit list winning screenplay written by Jonathan Stern and Jamie Minoprio.

It will be the feature debut of Manson Smith, whose TV directing work includes the BAFTA and Emmy winning Death in Gaza and the BBC comedy series La La Land.

The story of a pair of teenage misfits who vow revenge on their bully schoolteacher by attempting to seduce his wife, Sex Education is being produced by Faye Ward for Ruby Films along with BBC Films.

The script topped the 2010 Brit List, the annual list of best unproduced screenplays compiled by the UK and Irish film community.

Shooting is scheduled for June.
