Evolution Independent, Lagniappe and Paradox Entertainment’s thriller is filming in Shreveport, Louisiana, and stars Rooney Mara (pictured), Casey Affleck and Ben Foster.
David Lowery directs from his screenplay about outlaws on the run in the Texan hills. Nate Parker and Keith Carradine round out the cast. The Weinstein Company handles international sales.
Evolution Independent, Paradox Entertainment and Lagniappe are financing the film in a three-way split.
James Johnston and Toby Halbrook are producing for Fort Worth, Dallas-based Sailor Bear with Jay Van Hoy and Lars Knudsen for Parts & Labor, Amy Kaufman for Primary Productions and Cassian Elwes for Evolution Independent.
Mark Burg and Mike Menchel serve as executive producers for Evolution alongside Daniel Wagner and Fredrik Malmberg of Paradox, and Logan Levy and Jesse Kennedy of Lagniappe.
Evolution, launched by Elwes, Burg and Menchel, plans to announce several more projects over the next six months.
Levy and Kennedy formed Lagniappe in January to offer a variety of financing components and recently wrapped photography on A Case Of You with Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood and Sienna Miller.
Paradox Entertainment originated in Sweden and manages and develops properties including Conan The Barbarian, Solomon Kane, Mutant Chronicles, and the works of Robert E Howard.
